On the south of Futian district at the Shenzhen River will be placed the core functional area of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, which will be a pilot area that radiates the GBA with international vision and world-leading standards. A cross-regional cooperation with a focus on basic scientific research and applied basic scientific research, a national comprehensive science center with a group of national scientific research institutions and innovation companies with high standards will be established on both sides of the Shenzhen River.
The surrounding is defined by important ecologic zones as the Mai Po Nature Reserve, Lok Ma Chau Wetland, Futian Mangrove Nature Reserve, the Shenzhen River and the Shenzhen Central Park.
The aim of the area is to be designed with ecological and environmental protection ideas to become a green and sustainable ecological park. Our concept combines the high technical standard and the beautiful topography of the location around the Shenzhen River. We merge the city and the wetlands like Yin and Yang, creating a unique superposition along the river of Shenzhen.The area of the Hong Kong side is placed like an urban island into the wide landscape of the wetlands.
We mix the strong division between nature and city and we introduce the nature to the Shenzhen urbanism. We transform it into a natural and ecological space at the riverside, that is able to create an own micro climate and provides sustainable services to the complete city of Shenzhen.
