The exhibition La Collezione Wurts e le origini del Made in Italy was conceived for two symbolic venues in Rome: Palazzo Venezia and the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II (Vittoriano). EMBT was commissioned to develop the exhibition design for this project, which explored the historical and cultural significance of the Wurts collection and the roots of Italian artistic craftsmanship.

Curated around themes such as collecting, art donations, antiquities trade, cultural heritage preservation, and the evolution of the Italian artisan tradition, the exhibition traced a path through richly layered narratives, culminating in a section dedicated to artistic forgeries.

Visitors journeyed through the foundations and inner workings of the Vittoriano monument, encountering archaeological discoveries and archival material before reaching the main halls of the exhibition. EMBT’s design was sensitive to the historical context, creating a spatial dialogue between the displayed objects and the monument’s architecture—particularly in the area known as La vertigine del fregio. The design aimed to ensure narrative continuity between the two venues and allowed the exhibition route to begin from either location.
