We have looked for traces in the history of the city and the traditions of the unique region, the natural Parc Alb, which gave us the inspirations, on which we focus our project.
We found the pavement materials of the classicist core of Balingen, the typical fruit plantations of the surroundings, the wood economy and the tradition of the timber construction which has been lost in the big fire of the medieval city.
A garden fair will take place in Balingen in 2023 with the concept of a green belt following the river and its intersections with the city. We draw another belt following the railways, which shows the economical base of Balingen: Infrastructure – Technology – Trading – Wood industry – Fruit plantations – Sports.
A new quarter will be raised in the new belt along the rails, containing a sequence of different functional elements.
