Napoli Centro Direzionale Station, designed by Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects, has been featured in Legnoarchitettura 57. Published in the magazine’s Structures section, the article explores the use of timber in contemporary transport infrastructure, focusing on the structural and architectural role of wood in the project.
The station is characterised by an undulating vaulted roof in glulam timber, whose organic form contrasts with the surrounding concrete architecture. The project reinterprets the urban landscape of Naples’ Centro Direzionale, creating a welcoming public space where natural light filters through the timber structure, evoking the experience of walking through a forest.
