On 4 September, Benedetta Tagliabue and Joan CallÃs (Project Director at EMBT Architects) met the students of the Master’s Programme on Sustainable Cities at the Norman Foster Institute in Madrid for a Masterclass on architecture, urban environments and the evolving challenges facing our cities.
Drawing on a wide range of projects and experiences from EMBT’s practice, from the Santa Caterina Market and Diagonal Mar Park in Barcelona to the Scottish Parliament Building in Edinburgh, the session explored the relationship between architecture and the city, reflecting on how architectural thinking can contribute to more sustainable and meaningful urban futures.
