To mark the millennium of the Monastery of Montserrat, EMBT was commissioned by the Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya (UFEC) to design a votive lamp as a collective offering from the Catalan sports federations. Conceived by Benedetta Tagliabue and the EMBT team, the lamp expresses the values of unity, movement, and dedication through sport. Three concentric rings rise in a spiral, framing silhouettes of athletes from diverse disciplines, crowned with the emblems of each federation.
Crafted in copper, brass, and red and yellow enamel, it radiates warmth and lightness, integrating with the Abbey’s spiritual setting while offering a contemporary gesture. One of the last votive lamps to be placed in Montserrat, it stands as both a symbolic and artistic contribution to this deeply rooted Catalan tradition.
