Last 12th of February 2018, the whole community of Via Arginone witnessed the blessing and laying of the foundation stone of the new parish complex of San Giacomo Church in Ferrara (Italy), designed by Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT.
“A house among the houses – announced the archbishop Gian Carlo Perego – where they will share many different moments of everyday life; a strong testimony of the faith, a call for the Christian community that welcomed the apostle’s invitation “to patience but also to joy”.
Tagliabue explained that the new church will have two main characteristics: it will be firmly rooted in the city and will be bright, warm as everyone’s home. “We thought of a hot air balloon resting on the brick roof; inside on a wooden net and a large room where you will have to feel the sense of belonging and we have entrusted the iconographic part to the artist Enzo Cucchi who will complete the whole”.
