We are pleased to invite you to the opening of two exhibitions at the Fundació Enric Miralles. Liquid Architectures: Water Draws Always in Plural is organised by the Fundació Enric Miralles in collaboration with w a t e r s p a c e and Miralles Tagliabue EMBT Architects. The exhibition proposes a journey through different ways of thinking with water in architecture: water that builds the city, defines margins, holds memory, appears and disappears, and becomes image, data, atmosphere or awareness. In all its forms, water participates in the project as a plural intelligence.

Presented within the programme “Architecture for Human, Urban and Planetary Wellbeing” of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture, the exhibition makes visible the relationship between water and architecture through the archives of Enric Miralles and Miralles Tagliabue EMBT Architects.

This activity is part of the programme of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture, a distinction awarded by UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA) to the city hosting the UIA World Congress of Architects, turning it into a global forum for architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture. From 12 February to 13 December, a multidisciplinary programme will unfold in collaboration with schools, universities, and professional and cultural institutions throughout Catalonia.

Alongside it, Peter Cook: Cities and Pavilions presents drawings and recent works by Peter Cook, offering insight into his visionary approach to urban imagination and architectural experimentation. The exhibition features a series of recent drawings of future cities, as well as two built pavilions: the Play Pavilion (2025), commissioned by Serpentine Galleries and the LEGO Group, and the Drawing Studio for Arts University Bournemouth (2016).

The opening will begin at 18:30H with an introductory conversation led by Benedetta Tagliabue, with the participation of Jampel Dell’Angelo and Peter Cook.

Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture is supported by Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda.
