Benedetta Tagliabue has been selected to design the 2025 Cántir for the Museu del Càntir in Argentona. This annual commission invites contemporary artists and designers to reinterpret the traditional cántir, bridging modern creativity with Catalan ceramic heritage.
Reflecting on the project, Tagliabue shared: “I was thrilled to receive the invitation to design the Cántir for Argentona this year. I’ve always admired the new cántirs, often gifting them to friends. This opportunity is truly special. I’ve always loved visiting the museum and seeing how these ceramic pieces, made to carry and drink water, reflect an ancient history that traces the evolution of humanity. We’re having a lot of fun at the studio exploring different ideas, and I hope the result is beautiful. If all goes well, we’ll unveil the new cántir on June 24th, which by the way is my birthday.”
The new cántir will be revealed at the museum in June 2025.
