AN ARCHITECTURE OF CARE, YALE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

This semester Benedetta Tagliabue joins Yale School of Architecture as the Louis I. Kahn Visiting Professor of Architectural Design, leading the Spring

2025 Advanced Studio. The studio will delve into the intersection of design and care, focusing on a new Kálida (Maggie’s Centre) in the heart of Barcelona—a non-clinical building for cancer therapy.

Inspired by Maggie Keswick’s vision, the studio invites students to explore cultural perspectives on care, rethinking the relationship between architecture and thoughtful environments, and questioning how care itself can shape design.

On Thursday, January 30th, Benedetta will present a lecture, “An Architecture of Care,” examining the profound ties between architecture and care-for materials, people, and the discipline
