The Diagonal Mar Shopping Center’s plaza and terrace redesign project is situated in a strategic location in Barcelona, nestled between the Diagonal Mar Park and Parc del Forum. The renovation aims to create a strong connection with these large public spaces, functioning as an extension of them on a smaller scale. The plaza’s design features colorful pavements inspired by the richness of the sea, with a pattern resembling an open shell revealing a pearl. The terrazzo-like floor reflects the natural beauty of the sea, and the integration of holographic fish figures adds a magical, immersive quality. Additionally, the pergolas draw inspiration from the concept of water surfaces and are designed to reflect light, creating an ethereal, dynamic space. The project offers a vibrant space where nature and the urban environment come together, providing a new kind of public space that promotes interaction with the surroundings.
