The Yuewan village linpan is 5 min from the exit of the third ring expressway to the airport. The citrus trees and the broad bean are plants that characterize the agricultural production. The Yuewan village has a hilly landform with high quality citrus trees, zhennan, yew, gingko.
A community of modern agricultural income is still existing and people work on the farmland. We have 27 households with 109 people. The orginal form of the Linpan is still existing. We will restore these buildings and introduce a new building typology.
The Yuewan village Linpan will be the iconic space of Sichuan. It will tell us the history about Taoism, about the three kingdoms, Sichuan opera and about the nature and the Pandas. It will become a touristic icon to visit and to experience a special variety of touristic attractions. The landscape is defined by soft slopes with an organic stripe pattern that gives a sequence between fields and forest. We complete the waving shapes and form two main squares which are the cores for the new functions. These cores create spaces of density and voids that offers a sequence of open and intimate spaces. We introduce a building typology that will give a unique character to the Village. Inspired in the flying globes as a metaphor to the airport, we shape round roofs that specify the public and touristic buildings.
