The Deep Sea Museum and Sports Center in Sanya, China, is an innovative and sustainable architectural project that merges marine culture with cutting-edge design. Inspired by the ocean’s movement, the complex consists of pavilions arranged organically along the riverbank near the wetlands of Yazhou Bay. These structures, with photovoltaic roofs and rammed earth walls, integrate sustainability by reducing energy consumption and promoting a zero-carbon concept.

The Deep Sea Museum features immersive attractions, including a deep-sea aquarium, a 5D cinema, historical boat halls, interactive experimentation zones, and a gravity-free simulator. Visitors can explore marine technology, ecology, and history in an engaging and educational environment.

The Sports Center includes a main arena for 3,000 visitors, swimming pools, a gymnasium, a kickboxing hall, and a spa. The surrounding landscape is designed to absorb rainwater, reflecting the fluidity of the sea.

With a budget of 1.6 billion RMB, the project is part of an international competition, emphasizing green technology and architectural harmony. Its iconic pavilion design and maritime aesthetic will establish it as a landmark, reinforcing China’s identity as a leading sports nation and maritime powerhouse while offering a unique visitor experience.
