The Newsstand of the Future is an urban prototype designed to rethink the traditional newsstand in response to contemporary social transformations. Commissioned by Il Corriere della Sera, this project aims to create a dynamic and flexible urban element that redefines the role of the newsstand as a cultural hub rather than a simple kiosk for selling newspapers.

The design is inspired by the “rotative”, the rolling press that produces newspapers; symbolizing the core of journalism and communication. The newsstand breaks its monofunctional character by incorporating digital displays, meeting spaces, and interactive cultural elements, allowing people to read, gather, and exchange ideas. It also maintains its original function of selling newspapers, magazines, and books, while introducing new social activities such as film screenings, music listening, and public dialogues.

This project was presented as part of Milan Design Week 2020 in the Brera District, acting as a prototype for future urban integration. With a compact and transportable design, it represents a forward-thinking approach to revitalizing traditional urban elements.
