Benedetta Tagliabue and her architecture studio Miralles Tagliabue EMBT from Barcelona and Shanghai, together with Roca Madrid Gallery, present a selection of international projects of small and large scale designed by EMBT, embracing innovative ideas on urban regeneration in Europe and Asia, from 2008 to 2018.

“Urban regeneration – Architectural dialogues 2008-2018” is composed of twenty-five major projects, both built and under development, that show committed architecture in terms of social and public space; a synthesis between the built environment and nature, capable of generating comfortable and welcoming cities.

A selection of models will improve the understanding of the drawings, sketches, collages and photos that are displayed in a series of frames connected together; generating a plant geometry that reminds us of the way of doing and thinking of EMBT, and where the different levels of information are connected and overlap, creating architectural dialogues, which cover topics such as weaving, relax, landscape, movement, volumes, skin, wood, ceramics, etc.

Hamburg, Paris, Barcelona, Naples, Taichung, Neijiang and Milan are the highlighted cities of this exhibition. Each project takes in consideration the context, history, users and their culture and aims to enhance these aspects as a materialization of the philosophy of EMBT and ROCA: a better city leads to better life.

EMBT’s regeneration process aspires to adapt the urban context to the current standards of welfare, sustainability and mobility. Human feelings are a way of energy and should be considered as a powerful element in this process; after all, architecture has an incredible role in the pacification and integration of societies.

This exhibition arrives at Roca Madrid Gallery as a continuation of the great success achieved at the Schusev Museum of Architecture in Moscow (2017) and at the Hong Kong Design Institute (2016).
